October 12, 2018
North Vancouver, B.C. - October 12, 2018 - The Central Lonsdale area will officially become the home of the community’s first entirely mass timber development, creating 179 new homes for residents of North Vancouver. A pioneer in mass timber construction, Adera Development Corporation’s Crest project utilizes Luxury Wood in the form of cross laminated timber to create a building that benefits the community at large.
Committed to developing sustainable communities, this project marks yet another mass timber development as part Adera’s vast portfolio of sustainable projects. “They’re fundamentally changing the way residential construction is being done” says Stephen Tolnai, VP of Sales & Marketing at Structurlam Products LP.
The use of Luxury Wood in the construction of Crest is a testament to Adera’s commitment to the North Shore, constructing communities that positively impact residents, and the environment as a whole. Luxury Wood utilizes cross laminated timber, creating engineered wood panels that offer significant superiority over other materials. More seismically resilient, fire resistant, and creating quieter and healthier homes, the benefits of this alternative building material are endless. “This development is literally the way of the future when it comes to residential construction. We are very excited to officially break ground and welcome Crest to the community of the North Shore” explained Eric Andreasen, VP Sales & Marketing at Adera.
Through Adera’s sustainability initiative, Adera Cares, a positive impact on the communities through corporate philanthropy allows Adera to continue to support and build sustainable communities for years to come. Adera is proud to announce that through the #AderaLovesBikes fundraising campaign, $20,000 has been donated to local community organizations. The funds raised have been split amongst Cycling BC, The North Shore Mountain Bike Association, and The Union Gospel Mission, to inspire positive change for youth and the local cycling community.
As one of BC’s leading multi-disciplinary real estate organizations and almost 50 years of experience, Adera has built a world-class portfolio that includes the development of more than 10,000 homes, townhomes, condos, and over 4 million square feet of commercial space. Adera’s commitment to innovation drives sustainability and supports the communities in which they build.
