FOCAL POINT

Focal Point: Convenient condo living with a sweeping view

By Sheryl Gray, March 18, 2016

Surrey is a growing city which blends busy urban corridors with working farms and family-friendly suburbs. A drive east across the Fraser Highway shows this diversity, and some of the many places that people call home in the city. Along the highway, recent housing developments reflect the needs of many of today's homebuyers: convenient access to highways and transit, within walking distance to major retail and recreation facilities.

Fraser Highway near the Langley border is a hotbed of convenience in many aspects. The area is easily accessed by Highways 10 and 15, as well as Langley's 200th Street, and is well served by public transportation. Choices are many, with Willowbrook Shopping Centre and Clayton Crossing just blocks away, both with a range of restaurants, shops and services. Recreation is also nearby, with parks and golf courses, the Cloverdale racetrack, Cascade Casinos, and the Surrey Sports and Leisure Complex.

Focal Point is the newest neighbour to this incredibly centralized 'hood:  a new condominium residence that offers the ultimate in convenience and easy access, yet keeps the focus on its beautiful, contemporary design both inside and out. The five-story building offers one- and two-bedroom condo homes on the upper four floors, and attractive commercial space on the ground floor. Focal Point construction is completed with 65 per cent of homes already sold.

"Homebuyers have been really drawn to the unique, curved architecture of Focal Point. The building is quite eye catching and grabs attention right away as something a little different," says Denean Arnold, representative for HomeLife Benchmark Realty Corporation. "Once people come inside, they can't help but be drawn to the oversized windows, the 9' ceilings, and the view overlooking Langley, and clear out to Mount Baker."

Focal Point is offered by the Suraj Group of Companies, who have 30 years of experience and over 200 developments across Metro Vancouver. Their background in custom homes and ability to create individual and innovative home designs is evident in the creative use of land for Focal Point. Suraj takes its name to heart: "sun" in Hindi, they strive to aim higher with every new project and shine brightly above the rest.

Homes are offered in a range of floorplans to suit different needs and budgets. Common to all the homes are the luxury finishings and functional design meant for the ease and pleasure of day-to-day lifestyles. Gourmet kitchens include stainless steel appliances, soft-close cabinetry and quartz countertops, and feature oversized islands with roomy overhang for additional seating. Bathrooms also boast beautiful quartz countertops, along with hand-set wall and floor tiles.

Homes are stylishly finished in either "cool" or "warm" colour schemes, which coordinate though each home from laminate and tile flooring up to contemporary lighting. Natural light is also in abundance, compliments of the building's extensive glass facade. Covered balconies allow for outdoor enjoyment year-round, and some of the corner units still available include spacious, entertainment-sized decks. All residents can enjoy the great outdoors from the rooftop terrace, adjacent to shared amenity space with media room and conference room.

Focal Point is located at 19228 - 64th Avenue in Surrey (at the corner of Fraser Highway and 64 Avenue). One- and two-bedroom homes are available, with prices starting at $192,000 for a 673 sq.ft home. Show Suites are now open Saturday to Thursday from 12 – 4pm.
